Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)

The Canadian government has introduced a Comprehensive Ranking System to allocate a rank to each candidate in the Express Entry pool who wants to apply for Canadian Immigration through the Express Entry System. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is the name of the points system, and candidates are given CRS scores based on criteria such as age, education, language skills, and work experience, among others. Express Entry oversees three different economic immigration programs:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW)
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

A CRS score of 1200 points is assigned to each candidate who submits a profile to the Express Entry pool. The Canadian government holds an Express Entry draw every two weeks, in which the highest-ranking individuals are issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for a permanent residence visa.
