In comparison to average salaries in the wider economy (+22.2%), average hotel wages (+26%) have increased by approximately 15% during the epidemic. AHLA requested that, in accordance with the authority granted by Congress under the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act, the Department of Homeland Security issue an estimated 65,000 more H-2B temporary nonagricultural worker visas in order to help with workforce expansion.
