Neom Report: The LINE Project in Saudi Arabia Expects its First Residents in 2030

The first section of Cognitive City to be accessible to the general public will be Hidden Marina.

Arguably the biggest and most contentious architectural undertaking is called Neom. The Line megacity and other important aspects of the Saudi Arabian development are explained in this blog. To know more, keep reading.

What is Neom?

Neom, a sizable region of Saudi Arabia designated for development, is a project of crown prince Mohammed bin Salman, the country’s de facto ruler.

Neom is frequently referred to as a “smart city” however, a more appropriate description of it would be as an area that will include several cities, resorts, and other developments.

The Public Investment Fund, which manages the Saudi Arabian government’s money, substantially funds the project. Nadhmi Al-Nasr, the chief executive officer of the Saudi development business founded to build Neom, asserts that the fund is investing $500 billion in the program.

It is a component of the Saudi Vision 2030 strategy, which calls for diversifying the kingdom’s economy to lessen reliance on oil.

Where is Neom Located?

In the northwest of Saudi Arabia, a region called Neom spans around 10,200 square miles (26,500 square kilometers). The size of this is comparably the same as that of Albania.

The Red Sea and the Gulf of Aqaba encircle the region on its southern and western edges, respectively.

What is Going to Happen in Neom?

They claim that ten projects, referred to as regions by the developer, will make up Neom. Four of the regions have had their specifics revealed thus far. Oxagon, Trojena, Sindalah, and The Line are the most well-known.

Nine million people will live in The Line, a 170-kilometer-long linear city. Over the Neom region, it will extend from east to west. Two parallel, 500-meter-tall, linear buildings will make up the city. Mirrored facades will cover the buildings.

Built on the Red Sea in the far south of the Neom region, Oxagon is envisioned as an octagonal port city. The port and logistical center will be the “largest floating structure in the world,” according to Neom’s creator.

In the Sarwat Mountains, close to the region of Neom, a ski resort called Trojena is proposed. The 60-square-kilometer skiing and outdoor leisure complex, which offers skiing all year round, will host the Asian Winter Games in 2029.

In the Red Sea, Sindalah is envisioned as a vacation island. The 840,000 square meter island, geared towards the yachting community, would include a marina with 86 berths and many hotels.
