NEOM Hits Major Infrastructure Targets

A major step forward in its ambitious zero-carbon initiative, Saudi Arabia’s $500 billion megacity NEOM has finished building its light rail and underground parking infrastructure.

As per the press release, the world’s largest integrated development project managed to finish three piles each day per drilling rig with the help of ten high-capacity rotary drilling rigs from a Chinese construction manufacturing business.

A significant component of NEOM’s advanced sustainable transportation strategy is the light rail system and underground parking. Chinese company’s rotary drilling rigs proved to be efficient in handling deep foundation work, despite difficult sandy geologies, which expedited this phase.

A futuristic area in northwest Saudi Arabia that is powered only by renewable energy is the goal of the project, which the Public Investment Fund is leading. Trojena, Sindalah, Oxagon, and The Line are inside NEOM. It sets a new standard for sustainable living, working, and thriving by placing a high priority on people and the environment.

The release also stated that the effectiveness of rotary drilling rigs, which could handle deep foundation work even in challenging desert terrain, was a factor in this phase’s acceleration. As stated in the press release, the machine was the biggest model shipped from China and the largest-tonnage drilling rig used in the building of NEOM city.

These rigs proved to be dependable and performed better in terms of speed and efficiency in spite of arriving a month later than other machines. They finished their tasks two weeks ahead of schedule. The achievement, according to NEOM’s statement, advances the company’s objective of creating a city with sustainable energy use and no carbon emissions.

Now, the New Jaumur neighborhood and marina on the Gulf of Aqaba are among the other recent announcements by NEOM. 500 marina flats and over 700 opulent villas will be part of the upscale residential neighborhood centered around a waterfront promenade, housing over 6,000 residents.

The recently launched Magna complex on the Gulf of Aqaba coast is home to a resort that NEOM and American hospitality company Equinox Hotels aim to open earlier this month. Around 2,500 homes, 12 places spanning 120 kilometers of coastline, 15 hotels, and 1,600 rooms will all be part of this opulent vacation.
