Kenyans Set to Construct Massive $77 Trillion Metropolis in Saudi Arabia

A contract between Saudi Arabia and the government of President William Ruto is about to be signed, allowing Kenyan laborers to construct a new city valued at $77 trillion. Florence Bore, the Labour Cabinet Secretary, disclosed that Kenyans will be sent to assist the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) in developing a new tourism site.

The CS revealed in a statement that the two governments were in talks to send trained laborers from Kenya to work on construction projects at the projected Neom City site in Saudi Arabia. In the Tabkut Province, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia intends to construct a new city named Neom that will serve as a tourist attraction, according to the  information  Florence  Bore discovered during a recent trip there.

She stated that they have discussed how Kenya can provide labor for this construction by sending workers in the areas of building and construction, civil works technicians, electrical work, landscaping, architects, engineers and engineering trades, contractors, masonry, landscapers, designers, plumbers, and plant operators.

In order to develop Neom as a tourist attraction, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia plans to create the city for $77 trillion in the Tabkut Province. Eight million people are slated to live in the vast economic zone that would contain the proposed city, whose construction is scheduled to begin in 2024.

With over 210,000 Kenyans employed in the Kingdom, Saudi Arabia is noted by the CS as a major market for laborers from Kenya. 30% of Kenyan workers in Saudi Arabia are semi-skilled, skilled, and professionals, compared to 70% of low-skilled domestic laborers, according to Bore.

Under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA Plan), she confirmed that the action was in line with the agenda of the Kenya Kwanza administration and an investment in human capital.
