According to the data of the UN’s International Labour Organization, Blue-collar migrant workers have always been the workforce of the Gulf countries. The proportion of migrants in the eastern Arab region’s workforce has increased by 5.2 percent from 2013 to 2017, mostly in the construction sector.
According to the report, 40.8 percent of the total workforce across a 12-nation region is consist of migrants that includes GCC, a bloc of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman.
