Dynamic Staffing Services: Partnering with Enka Group for Dradenau Combined Heat & Power Plant in Hamburg

ENKA, in collaboration with its joint venture partner Uniper, has been awarded the Dradenau Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Plant project, a strategically significant initiative for Hamburg. This project is set to replace the existing coal-fired CHP plant in Wedel with a new, climate-friendly facility in Dradenau, known as the “KWK- Anlage Dradenau.”

The Project Details

Designed with a 2x2x1 configuration, the plant will feature two Siemens SGT-800 gas turbines, one steam turbine, and two heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), along with an additional gas steam generator. Upon completion, the facility is expected to deliver an electrical output of 180 MW and a district heating capacity of 260 MW.

The Dradenau CHP Plant will utilize heat from two primary sources:

  1. Heat from a Natural Gas-Fired Combined Cycle Power Plant: A new facility will be constructed on the site of the planned CHP plant in Dradenau.
  2. Heat from Third-Party Feeders: This includes heat recovered from thermal waste processes, industrial waste heat, and waste heat from sewage treatment plant operations.
