Job Description:
- Tile and marble setters are responsible for installing hard tiles, wood, and marble in homes and offices.
- They determine the tile or marble pattern layout, cut and shape the tiles to size, and expertly install flooring fixtures using hand and machine tools.
Knowledge & Qualification:
- Knowledge of Tiles and basic Chemicals
Role & Responsibilities:
- Measuring and marking: Measuring and marking surfaces to be tiled
- Preparing surfaces: Preparing surfaces for tiling by cleaning and applying waterproofing material or lath
- Cutting and shaping: Cutting and shaping tiles to fit around obstacles and in tight spaces
- Forming tile beds: Forming tile beds using concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, glue, or mortar
- Aligning and straightening: Aligning and straightening tiles to ensure patterns are even and precise
- Installing and anchoring: Installing and anchoring fixtures in designated positions
- Mixing and applying: Mixing, applying, and spreading adhesive to apply, seal, and finish tile
- Creating designs: Creating decorative wall and floor designs by laying and setting mosaic tiles
