The event in New Delhi was the third iteration of Media Oasis and the first to occur outside of Saudi Arabia. The exhibition offered a virtual tour of the futuristic infrastructure and historical places in Saudi Arabia.
The main mega-projects of the Kingdom under Vision 2030 were showcased in an interactive multimedia experience at a special exhibition by the Saudi Ministry of Media in New Delhi, India in conjunction with the G20 meeting.
The $500 billion Saudi smart city project NEOM, the Saudi Ministries of Energy, Sports, and Culture, as well as the Future Investment Initiative, Invest Saudi, the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence, and the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts have all partnered to organize the three-day Media Oasis at The Oberoi Hotel.
On 9th September, Saturday, the official G20 Saudi delegation’s ministers, representatives from other countries, and many international media sources attended the exhibition’s launch.
Alhanouf Abohaimed, the head of partnerships at the Saudi Centre of Government Communications, told Arab News that “Media Oasis is a new initiative by the Ministry of Media to redefine media coverage by leveraging modern technology to achieve greater creativity, innovation, and excellence in covering national events, major occasions, and Saudi Arabia’s international engagements.”
The exhibition, according to her, “uses cutting-edge technologies to showcase the milestones reached by significant national transformative initiatives” as part of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 social and economic diversification plan.

Visitors can interact with resorts on the Red Sea coast, new high-tech clean energy solutions, future residential designs and infrastructure, and initiatives elevating sporting experiences through the interactive exhibition, which takes them on a virtual tour of UNESCO-class Saudi heritage sites.
The immersive experience that the exhibition gave, as well as the sustainable solutions that have been implemented and developed in Saudi Arabia, captivated the exhibition’s Indian visitors.
Even someone with Zikrur Rahman’s level of Kingdom experience found the encounter eye-opening. He was amazed at how many initiatives Saudi Arabia had recently begun and how progress has been given a push across all fields and industries.
He remarked, “I wish that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia showcased such an event in other countries as well, referring to the advancement Saudi is making that is unknown to the rest of the world.
The initiative “Media Oasis” was excellent. It was a projection from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and was desperately required in a place like India.
