Maintaining of Canadian PR Card- 

Canadian PR holders are allowed to enter or exit from Canada anywhere whenever they want to. However, to maintain the status of your PR card, you need to stay in Canada for 2 years out of 5 years. In case you fail to do so, your PR will be revoked. Therefore, live at least 2 years out of 5 in Canada to maintain your Canadian PR status. You must note that 2 years don’t need to be consecutive.

A permanent resident’s status might be withdrawn if you don’t remain in Canada for the required amount of time. Permanent residents are required to show their permanent residency card to the visa officer upon arrival back in Canada.
