The IRCC came up with one more express entry draw on 15th march 2023. Although this latest express entry was not restricted to any specific program. In this draw, the IRCC invited candidates from all existing programs under the Express Entry.
This latest express entry draw stood out as the 7th draw of 2023. This draw invited 7000 candidates meeting the minimum CRS requirement of 490. Candidates meeting this CRS requirement from all the programs received Invitation to Apply (ITAs) from the IRCC.
The Express Entry draw that occurred yesterday, i.e., March 15, 2023, surpassed the last all-program draw. In the last EE draw, the IRCC sent ITAs to around 5,500 candidates. Whenever any all-program express entry draw take place, candidates from all program under Express Entry are considered. The Express Entry is responsible for three major economic programs named FSWP, FSTP, and CEC. On the other hand, in a program-specific draw, the candidates from the particular are invited to apply for PR, which could be any such as FSWP, PNP, FSTP, CEC, etc.
For the last two months, the IRCC has carried out only program-specific draws. In the program-specific draw, the IRCC invited candidates from a particular program. The IRCC conducted the last all-program on January 1, 2023. Thereafter, IRCC kept coming up with program-specific draws only. In the span of 2 months, IRCC organized 3 PNP and one FSWP program-specific draw.
The last draw was the PNP draw that occurred on March 1, 2023. In this draw, the ITAs were sent to 697 candidates having the nomination from any Province/territory. In the past year, from July to December, only program-specific draws were conducted by the IRCC. In addition to this, throughout this span, the IRCC invited over 1,000 candidates in each draw. The number of candidates invited by the IRCC greatly grew with the falling CRS score.
Spotlight by the IRCC on the 2021 Express Entry Data
The IRCC developed a report highlighting the data from “Express Entry 2021”. 2021 has been a great year for Express Entry.
In the year 2020, the IRCC couldn’t conduct any draw due to the pandemic and its effect on the world. Also, the pandemic led to a serious backlog of applications for the IRCC. The IRCC had to stop carrying out the draws to overcome the backlog. Although during this pause, the IRCC issued ITAs to candidates only from CEC and PNP. In September 2021, the IRCC paused the draws for the CEC too.
In 2021, the IRCC sent ITAs to 114,431 candidates from different programs under the Express Entry. The IRCC conducted only program-specific draws throughout the year. In total, there were 42 program-specific draws. All the draws were only for PNP and CEC candidates, not FSWP and FSTP.
PNPs are taking over Express Entry
After the Conference of Ministers Responsible for Immigration on March 10, Canada announced that provinces would get an average of 44 percent higher PNP allotment this year.
Every year, the IRCC makes a certain number of nominations available to each province and territory that participates in the PNP.
This year was the first time that IRCC provided provinces with multi-year allocations. These numbers were not made public, but the provinces shared them.
This year Canada is all set to bring approximately 465,000 new permanent residents through different immigration pathways. The Express Entry will be responsible for 88,880 admissions in Canada as permanent residents. Additionally, PNP streams, including those interconnected with the Express Entry, will account for 105,000 entrances to Canada.
Canada will have to invite the express entry candidates substantially to meet its 2023 target efficiently. This year, PNP will take over the express entry system for inviting the highest number of candidates to Canada.
What is Express Entry System?
Express Entry System is the mainstream of inviting overseas skilled workers. This system supervises three major economic programs that come under the Express Entry. These three programs are renowned as the FSWP, FSTP, and CEC. In order to apply through any program, you need first to fulfil the program’s requirements. Each program has got their eligibility criteria.
Once you are eligible for any program, you will be added to the pool of applicants. While in the pool, you will get a CRS score based on age, education, work experience, adaptability, etc. You will be requested to apply if you score a CRS score equivalent or more to the released cut-off. If you get the ITA, you must submit the application to the IRCC for permanent residency status.
Once you have the ITA, you are mandated to submit the application with all the required documents within 60 days. If you don’t submit the application within the specified duration, the ITA will get expired.
